Maintenance Manager and Works Management Assistant

Department: Stadium Maintenance

Place of work: Patalino Stadium, Elvas

Report to: General Manager O Elvas SAD

Purpose of the role:

The Maintenance and Works Management Assistant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all maintenance and site activities during the renovation phase of the Patalino Stadium in Elvas. The resource will coordinate construction companies, supervise operations, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and contribute to the completion of the project on time and within budget.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordination of construction companies:
    • Ensure access to construction site areas for contractors.
    • Check the availability of machinery and equipment.
    • Co-ordinate the activities of the different companies involved.
    • Resolve any problems or conflicts between companies.
  • Supervision of the work:
    • Carry out periodic checks on the progress of the work.
    • Verify the conformity of the work with the executive projects and current regulations.
    • Monitor the quality of the materials used.
    • Manage any changes to the project.
  • Safety at work:
    • Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations.
    • Carry out periodic inspections of workplaces.
    • Organise training courses for staff.
    • Managing emergencies and accidents.
  • On-site order management:
    • Maintain order and cleanliness in the site area.
    • Define and enforce site access procedures.
    • Manage the logistics of materials and equipment.
  • Other responsibilities:
    • Produce periodic progress reports.
    • Collaborate with the construction manager and other project managers.
    • Participate in site meetings.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in civil or construction engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in construction site management, preferably in the sports sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to work under site conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Technical skills:

  • CAD design software (e.g. AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of the main project management software.
  • Driving licence.
